2. Pretribulation Rapture

Meaning- the Rapture of the church (i.e., the coming of the Lord Jesus in the air for his saints) will take place before the seven- year period of the Tribulation begins.  Therefore, the church will not go through any of the Tribulation period according to this view.

Bible verses- REVELATIONS 3:10- BECAUSE YOU HAVE KEPT THE WORD OF MY PERSEVERANCE, I ALSO WILL KEEP YOU FROM THE HOUR OF TESTING, THAT HOUR WHICH IS ABOUT TO COME UPON THE WHOLE WORLD, TO TEST THOSE WHO DWELL ON THE EARTH.  (The promise to be kept out of the hour of trouble.)

2 THESSALONIANS 2:7- FOR THE MYSTERY OF LAWLESSNESS IS ALREADY AT WORK; ONLY HE WHO NOW RESTRAINS WILL DO SO UNTIL HE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY.  (the removal of the residence aspect of the indwelling Holy Spirit’s work in believers requires the removal of believers too.)

REVELATIONS 6:17- FOR THE GREAT DAY OF THEIR WRATH HAS COME, AND WHO IS ABLE TO STAND?  

1 THESSALONIANS 1:10- AND TO WAIT FOR HIS SON FROM HEAVEN, WHOM HE RAISED FROM THE DEAD, THAT IS, JESUS CHRIST, WHO RESCUES US FROM THE WRATH TO COME.  

1 THESSALONIANS 5:9- FOR GOD HAS NOT DESTINED US FOR WRATH, BUT FOR OBTAINING SALVATION THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  (The Tribulation is a time of the outpouring of the wrath of God and the church is exempt from wrath.)

1 THESSALONIANS 5:6- SO THEN LET US NOT SLEEP AS OTHERS DO, BUT LET US BE ALERT AND SOBER.  (The Rapture can be imminent only if it is pretribulational.)
